Cargo transportastion of "V.F. Tanker" during first half of 2016 exceeds for 27% the previous year thanks to among other usage of RST27 tankers

Due to information of press-service of Shipping Company "B.F.Tanker"press-service of Shipping Company "B.F.Tanker" (that is included in the UCL Holding, Sergey Bryzgalov is an executive director), the total amount of the company's cargo transportation during 6 months of 2016 is 2.1 million tons. This result exceeds for 27% the value for the similar period of previous year thanks to among other measures to rational usage of RST27 "super-fat" tankers.

"B.F.Tankers" operates 22 river-sea RST27 tankers built during 2012-2013 at Krasnoe Sormovo Shipyard in Nizhniy Novgorod (10 vessels) and at Oka Shipyard in Navashino (12 vessels). Tankers have 6 cargo tanks and 2 slope tanks with summarized capacity of 8100 m3; marine deadweight is 7022 t for draught 4.20 m, river deadweight is record 5420 t for draught 3.60 m; operational speed is 11.0 kn.

Project RST27 was designed by Marine Engineering Bureau. Britain Royal Institution of Naval Architects included RST27 in the list of the best vessels of the year (Significant Ships of 2012 and Significant Ships of 2013).

The scheme of cargo transshipment during transportation is effectively realized now for oil products transportation through internal waterway taking into account conditions of navigation of the current year and operational and technical indicators of the company's fleet. Cargo transshipment from river vessels to river-sea ones is made on the roads of the port of Volgograd with help of oil pumping station. This scheme allows to increase significantly the efficiency of transportations due to reduction of circular voyages duration of twenty two tankers of the RST27 project of the "VF Tanker" type that have enhanced deadweight and increased "fatness" of the hull.

There were no essential changes in the cargo nomenclature transported during January-June of 2016. As before, the greatest relative weight was made by transportations of export cargo: masut (23%), bitumen (21%), VGO - 15%, crude oil (7%) and diesel oil (7%). Thus for the reporting period about 95% of the totally delivered cargoes were transported through the internal waterways.

Climatic and hydrological situation favorable in comparison with shallow water navigation of 2015 at all transit internal waterways was the major factor which determined growth of company's transportation in general and increase of capacity of in-Russian transportations in particular.

THIRTY FOUR "super-fat" RST27 tankers with marine/river deadweight about 7022/5420 t are under operation today yet. More seven vessels are under building at three shipyards.

RST27 vessels have the record block coefficient 0.93, but the head vessel showed speed of 11.7 kn during trials at running line with main engines power of 2100 kW (87.5% of full output) and fore/aft draughts 3.2/3.3 m.

Thus the contract deadweight of 6980/5378 is increased for 42 t, contract speed is increased more than 1 kn.

New project tanker has increased river function comparing with other MEB projects. River deadweight of RST27 vessels is increased for 732 t comparing to Armadas, while:

• increased hull's strength (vessel is of R2 sailing region, or II region due to old RS classification);
• practically keeping the same fuel consumption;
• keeping increase capacity of cargo tanks.

Russian Maritime Registry of Shipping class notation is KM Ice1 R2 AUT1-ICS OMBO VCS ECO-S Oil tanker /Chemical tanker type 2 (ESP).

As other river-sea going MEB tankers, RST27 vessels use full-circle rudder propellers as single movement and manoeuvre unit. They have increased trunk and use submersible cargo pumps. They have no longitudinal bulkhead in CL and no framing in cargo tanks.

RST27 vessels satisfy dimensions of the Volga-Don Canal and Volga-Baltic Way. Overall RST27 vessel length is of 140.85 m, breadth is of 16.6 m, depth is of 6.0 m. They belong to "Volgo-Don Max" class.

Special requirements of the Russian and world petroleum companies, additional ecological RS limitations of "ECO PROJECT" (ECO-S) class were taken into consideration during designing.

RST27 vessels are assigned for transportation of crude oil and oil products, without flash point restrictions, also chemicals in bulk.

Cargo system provides simultaneously transportation of 2 cargoes. Cargo pumps capacity is 6 x 200 cub. m/hour. Two auxiliary steam boilers (capacity 2.5 t/hour each) are installed onboard.

Two medium-speed diesels (main engine) of 1200 kW each use heavy fuel oil with viscosity IFO380. There is 230 kW bow thruster.

Electrical plant consists of three 292 kW diesel-generators and emergency-staying 136 kW diesel-generator.

Crew consists of 12 persons (14 places + pilot).

Autonomy is of 20/12 days (sea/river).
