4 MW multipurpose MPSV07 salvage vessel "Spasatel Zaborschikov" arrived to the search area of a fishing vessel "Vostok" at the Sea of Japan

According to TASS agency, 4MW multipurpose MPSV07 salvage vessel "Spasatel Zaborschikov" arrived to the search area of "Vostok" fishing vessel in the Sea of Japan.

According to Vladivostok Maritime Rescue Coordination Center, m4MW multipurpose MPSV07 salvage vessel "Spasatel Zaborschikov" will continue the search operation at nightfall.

At nightfall specialized rescuer "Zaborschikov" will continue to work, she has searchlights and everything else what is necessary," - said spokeswoman of the Far Eastern Regional Search and Rescue Team Elena Chuvashova, specifying that the vessel should approach the search area after 19:00 local time (12:00 by Moscow).

Two lifejackets, two lifebuoys, a fishing orange buoy and a fragment of the board, presumably from the deck house, have been found.

Search area: 60 miles to the southeast from Cape Gamow with the center at the point of actuation of the emergency buoy of the "Cospas-Sarsat" system.

The rescue operation is seriously endangered by the unfavorable hydro meteorological situation in the area. North wind is 22-24, gusts up to 27 m/s, air temperature is 16 degrees, water temperature is +1 degrees, waves up to 4 m which causes severe icing of ships.

Fishing vessel "Vostok" stopped contacting on January 25, 2018 in the Sea of Japan, 200 km to the south of Cape Gamow (neutral waters). The Ministry of Emergency Situations informed about the actuation of the emergency buoy of the vessel. According to preliminary data, there are 20 people on board.

"Spasatel Zaborschikov" is a unique multifunctional salvage vessel by her equipment and available technology; she was built in 2013 by Neva Shipyard (Russia) by order of FSUC "State Customer Management of Maritime Transport Development Programs" of the Federal Agency of Maritime and River Transport of the Russian Federation. Vessel was built in behalf of "State Marine Emergency Salvage, Rescue and Pollution Prevention Coordination Service of the Russian Federation" (FBE SMPCSA). 4 vessels of the "Spasatel Karev" type are the biggest and the most significant vessels nowadays built at the expense of funds of the Federal Target Program for the Development of transport system of Russia for 2010-2015 years.

Vessel's project was designed by Marine Engineering Bureau.
