HAT-SAN Shipyard put into operation a multi-purpose 3650 kW Arctic class tug "Marshal" of TG19 prj

On 25th of July, 2018, HAT-SAN Shipyard (Turkey, Yalova) put in to operation a multi-purpose 3650 kW Arctic class tug "Marshal" of TG19 prj.
 
Project TG19 was designed by Marine Engineering Bureau.
 
Vessel of TG19 prj. is designed to fulfill the following operations:
 
• towage of vessels and floating objects in marine conditions;
• performing auxiliary operations in the port water area;
• taking part in oil spill operations as an auxiliary transport craft for delivery of oil spill equipment, and also as a boom boat for the booms placing around the emergency spill area;
• give assistance in fire combating on floating objects and coastal ones accessible from seaside;
• transportation of general cargoes on the deck with loading-unloading by port cranes or vessel's crane;
• escort tug operations.
 
TG19 tugboat is a steel single-deck tug with 2 full-circle rudder propellers with a VPP in a nozzles, with skegs, with forecastle and a double-tier deck-house, with wheelhouse of a full-round view, with a working deck located aft, with the ER located in the middle, with a cargo crane.
 
The navigation area is the marine regions that satisfy to the area R1. Radio equipment provides operation in the areas A1, A2, A3.
 
Principal dimensions of the vessel are as follows:
 
Length overall 37.70 m;
Length between perpendiculars is 33.60 m;
Breadth overall is 12.90 m;
Breadth is 12.10 m;
Depth is 5.70 m;
Draught (Summer free board) is of 3.60 m;
Draught maximal (including skeg) is 5.20 m;
Main engines are 2 x 1825 kW;
Ahead push forces is 55.0 t;
Ahead speed at 100% ME power is 12.0 kn. Astern speed at 100% ME power is 11.0 kn;
Autonomy for fuel nd lub. oils, fresh water and provision is 9.5 days.
 
Russian Maritime Registry of Shipping class notation is KM Arc4 R1 Aut1-C FF3WS Oil recovery ship( > 60°C) Escort tug.
 
Towing tests of the TG19 tug model were carried out in the towing tank of the National University of Shipbuilding named after Admiral Makarov; Professor V.A Nekrasov was a head.
 
Calculations of hydromechanics and kinematic characteristics of stationary escort operations of the TG19 tug, stability calculations for these operations and providing the escort class of the tugboat were carried out in accordance with the requirements of RS escort tugboat regulations.
 
In accordance with the IMO requirements due to providing vessel's manoeuvrability during tug escorting, the TG19 tugboat can be used for escorting tankers of maximal deadweight 60,000 - 120,000 t.
 
Two full-turn rudder propellers with variable-pitch propellers in nozzles are installed aft in order to provide the required vessel's speed and steerability. Power transmission from main engines to rudder propellers is realized through cardan gear and elastic clutch.
 
Vessel's hull is reinforced for Arc 4 class.
 
Cargo hydraulic crane-manipulator is arranged on the upper deck StB. Its capacity is of 2.17 t at boom outreach 8 m and of 1.6 t at boom outreach 10.2 m.
 
A mooring-towing winch is used for towage operations (with pull of 30 t), also 65 t towing hook can be used.
 
Towing bitts and cast hawse of required dimensions are arranged for providing tugboat's towage.
 
40 t escort winch are arranged on the forecastle deck for providing escort operations.
 
Container sockets as well as 8 twistlocks are foreseen on the cargo part of the main deck for securing TEU.
 
The vessel is equipped with a rescue boat of the "RIB" type with own launching unit.
 
The vessel is supplied with two high-holding power anchors.
 
Single cabins with lavatory are foreseen for accommodation of crew (7 people). Total places onboard are 12.
 
Living and working compartments are arranged in the fore living deck-house and in the forecastle superstructure.
 
The wheelhouse is of all-round view type and provides the possibility of single person vessel's control.
 
Special water main system in accordance with FF3WS requirements is provided in order to fire combating on other vessels. Water supply to this system is made by special fire pump driven by ME.
 
Two monitors are placed fore on the forecastle deck. Each monitor gas feeding of 600 cub.m/h of water or 150 cub.m/h of foam; jet's length is more than 100 m and height 45 m.
 
Monitors are remotely driven from the wheelhouse.
 
The water curtains system is foreseen to protect the vessel against effect of burning object (another vessel, drilling rig etc).
 
There is possibility of transporting booms and oil spill equipment.
 
The lead TG19 vessel "Marshall" was accepted for operation on 25.07.18.
