BC14 Bulker "Novaya Zemlya" transported 90 thousand tons of building cargo through Northern Sea Route

As to information from State tele-radio company "Murman", BC14 bulker "Novaya Zemlya" of 23700 t deadweight with Arc4 Arctic ice category arrived to port of Murmansk on 29.01.2019.
 
Vessel "Novaya Zemlya" worked for 4 months at Northern Sea Route and now arrived to the port road at the Kola Bay. Bulker transported crushed stone at places of building berths for tankers and gas-carriers.
 
About 90 thousand tons of cargo was delivered by 4 voyages. Now days, bulkers are highly needed for due to big amounts of works within "Yamal-SPG" project. Vessels with high ice class regularly change each other.
 
Arctic was kind to the vessel. Master of m/v "Novaya Zemlya" Sergey Safronov told, that "Nature has somehow taken pity on us. Ice conditionы were rather favorable. Winds were of a southern quarter, therefore in port Sabetta in the Gulf of Ob, ice which has to freeze to coastal ice for a long ago, was kept as free floating".
 
BC14 project was designed by the Marine Engineering Bureau (conceptual design; calculated, general-projected and hull parts of classification project) and China Design University (equipment, rigging and workshop drawings).
 
The bulk-carrier "Novaya Zemlya" was built in 2009 at Cxengxi Shipyard (building No. CX4228) in JianYyin town (Jiangsu province, China).
 
Vessel's overall length is 180.50 m, breadth is 22.86 m, depth is 13.50 m, Summer Freeboard draught is 9.91 m.
 
Vessel has 7 cargo holds, double bottom and double sides. She is assigned for transportation of bulk, grain, general cargoes, un-liquefied ore concentrate and dangerous goods of 1, 1.4S, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 classes of IMDG Code and cargoes of category B of BC Code.
 
BC14 vessel's class notation of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping is KM Arc4 AUT1 bulk carrier BC-A (ESP).
 
Summarized capacity of cargo holds is of 25440 cubic m. Deadweight is of 23700 tons.
 
Container capacity is 512 TEU.
 
Main engine's capacity is 9480 kW; low-speed diesel of Bryansk Machine-Building Factory 6S 50MC-C is used. Engine was constructed in 2007, it uses profit-proved heavy fuel (masout).
 
Cruising speed is of 15.2 kn. Sailing distance is of 9000 miles.
 
The keel of vessel "Novaya Zemlya" was laid down on 06.08.08. She was put into operation on 24.03.09. Totally five BC14 bulkers were built.
