Dry cargo vessel project 005RSD03 is designed by the Marine Engineering Bureau (MEB).

"KAPITAN KONKYN" is the fifth vessel in a series which was modified for work on heavy fuel with viscosity till 380 cSt (masout).

The vessel has got higher class: II instead of IISP.

The shipowner is carrying out the re-equipment on heavy fuel of the first five vessels of the project.

Project belongs due to MEB internal classification to the vessels which are destined for "Sormov"/"Volga-Balt" type replacement.

Deadweight is of 5490 tons when sea draught is of 4.792 m.

Deadweight is of 3330 tons with the draught of 3.60 m in the river.

Capacity of three cargo holds is of 7840 m³.

All holds are box-shaped, smooth-wall, convenient for carrying out the freight works and placing a cargo without shifting.

The cargo holds' sizes are of 21.45x12.7 m (hold No. 1), 27.3x12.7 (hold No. 2) and 26.55x12.7 m (hold No. 3) with the height of 8.3 m.

Movement and manoeuvrability of the vessel is provided by two stern full-circle rudder propellers with variable-pitch propeller in nozzles. The drive from main engines to rudder propellers is carried out through mechanical Z-gearing.

Designed vessel hull' life term is of 24 years.

The ship steel of categories RSA and RSD with a yield limit of 235 MPa was accepted for basic hull constructions.

The double bottom is designed for distributed load intensity of 7.5 t/m² that allows to use a bucket grab with cargo-lifting capacity 16 tons.

Autonomy in sea is of 20 days, in river it is of 15 days.

Vessel's keel was laid down on 20.04.07. She was launched on 07.12.07.
