7MW multipurpose MPSV06 rescue vessel "Beringov Proliv" completed 9 operations in Jan. on ice pilotage in the seaports of Vanino and Sovetskaya Gavan

According to the site of Marine Salvage Service of Rosmorrechflot, 7MW multipurpose MPSV06 rescue vessel "Beringov Proliv" of Icebreaker 6 class completed nine ice pilotage operations of six vessels in the seaports of Vanino and Sovetskaya Gavan.

As the press service of Marine Salvage Service already reported, this year, icebreaker assistance services in the water areas of the ports of Vanino and Sovetskaya Gavan were provided by 7MW multipurpose MPSV06 rescue vessel "Beringov Proliv" of Icebreaker 6 class. The Sakhalin branch of the Marine Salvage Service concluded agreements for the provision of icebreaking assistance services in the sea ports of Vanino and Sovetskaya Gavan.

The deterioration of ice conditions in these ports occurs from December to February, and the ice can remain in places in April. Now the temperature at night reaches minus 22 degrees Celsius. Difficult ice situation causes difficulties for the movement of vessels with a low category of ice class. Every year, by order of the captains of the ports, movement across the waters of the ports of Vanino and Sovetskaya Gavan is limited. Thus, from January 12, vessels with a broken power plant, a broken propeller complex, no ice class, barge-towing convoys, and towing uncontrolled objects are prohibited from ice navigation in the port of Vanino. Under icebreaker assistance, vessels having the ice category of ICE 1 are allowed to sail, and vessels having the category ICE 2, depending on the current situation, under icebreaker assistance or independently.

In the seaport of Sovetskaya Gavan and on approaches to it, restrictions were made from December 25th of last year. At the moment, in the sea area of the Sovetskaya Gavan seaport, vessels without ice strengthening, as well as those with ice category ICE 1, are not allowed to sail in ice throughout the port water area. Vessels with the ice category of "ARC 4" and higher are allowed to sail independently. Vessels having the ice category of ICE 2 and ICE 3 - only under the supervision of icebreakers or ice class tugs.

The crew of multipurpose 7MW MPSV06 rescue vessel "Beringov Proliv" manages with the tasks of safe icebreaking assistance, as well as freeing of ice of vessels and moorings.

Until the removal of the ice navigation regime in the sea ports of Vanino and Sovetskaya Gavan, the MPSV "Beringov Proliv" will continue to carry out the tasks of ice pilotage.
