The second dry-cargo vessel "Ukrainets" of 005RSD03 prj. ("Karelia" concept) was launched

On October 26, 2004 the Onega shipyard launched at Petrozavodsk the second multi-purpose dry-cargo river-sea going vessel "Ukrainets" with deadweight of 5470 tons of 005RSD03 prj. St. Petersburg is the port of registry.
 
OJSC "Belomor-Onega Shipping" (Orimi concern) is a ship-owner.
 
Vessel's project is designed by the Marine Engineering Bureau (MEB).
 
Vessel's Russian Maritime Register of Shipping class notation is of KM LU2 IISP A3.
 
Two full-circle rudder propellers are used as propulsion and manoeuvrability devices.
 
Vessel is assigned for river-sea and sea transportation of general, bulk, timber, grain, timber and large-sized cargoes, ISO containers, dangerous goods of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.1, 8, 9 classes.
 
Vessel's dimensions are optimized for work through Volga-Balt and Volga-Don canals, ice category is increased up to LU2 for operation in Baltic Sea in winter.
 
Vessel's length is of 102.2 m. Depth is of 5.50 m. Breadth is of 16.5 m. Deadweight is of 5500 tons with sea draught of 4.79 m. Deadweight is of 3300 tons with sea draught of 3.60 m.
 
Total cargo holds capacity is of 7833 cub. m. Crew consists of 9 persons.
 
Vessel's keel was laid down on 18.11.03.
 
The lead vessel of the series "Rossiyanin" is being fit out now.
