Vyborg Shipyard laid down the keel of the third 80-meter large freezer trawler-processor of the prj. KMT02 "Bratya Laptevi"



According to the press service of the shipyard, on September 22, 2020, the Vyborg Shipyard (General Director Alexander Solovyov) laid down the keel of the third 80-meter large freezing trawler-processor of the prj. KMT02 "Bratya Laptevi" (building number 949).
 
Company Union of Fishermen of the North (FOR group) is a Customer.
 
Totally 4 KMT02 trawlers were ordered at the Vyborg Shipyard.
 
The guests were greeted by the Deputy General Director of the Vyborg Shipyard - Andrey Leonidovich Popov: "There is still a very long and long way ahead, which we must travel together. We thank the customer for entrusting us with building three vessels of his fishing program. We assure you that Vyborgskoye quality "will fully satisfy the expectations and requirements that the customer expects from us. Good luck for this vesse!".
 
The chairman of the board of directors of the FOR group, Dmitry Germanovich Kozharsky, noted: "The fleet is the child of the country, the children of the company. Of course, now we have to work in a very difficult time, but I hope that these children will live a long, successful life and bring everyone joy. Congratulations to all on this event!".
 
After the welcoming words, a board was fixed on the section. And then the section was blessed by Archpriest Vyacheslav Nikitin.
 
The daily output of factory of KMT02 processor trawler is as follows: 40 t for fillet fish, 48 t for fish meal and fish oil, 80 t for freezing production, 4 thousand of conditional tins for cannery.
 
Assumed operational area is Northern Atlantic, including Greenland, Canada, Iceland, Spitsbergen and Barents Sea.
 
The main types of catching fish: Cod, Dickie (Haddock), Seabass and Catfish.
 
After processing and freezing production storage is provided in the refrigerating hold (capacity about 2050 m³). Fishmeal is stored in separate hold (capacity about 260 m³).
 
The vessel is equipped for work with single trawl or with two trawls simultaneously.
 
The vessel's general particulars are as follows:
 
Length overall is about 80.40 m;
Breadth is 15.40 m;
Depth up to main deck is 6.15 m;
Depth up to trawl deck is 9.10 m;
Maximal aft draught is 8.90 m;
 
Russian Maritime Registry of Shipping class notation is - KM Ice3 AUT1 (REF) Fishing Vessel OMBO.
 
Improved to an ice category ARC4, the hull and superstructure of the vessel are made of steel, the pilot house is made of aluminum alloy.
 
Equipment of fish-processing plant includes different types of fillet machines, machines for decapitating and gutting of fish, and equipment for transportation and sorting of fish, fillet fish sorting, storage device for fish, tables for weighting and packing etc.
 
There is cannery workshop for production of canned codfish liver and fish meal machine.
 
Accommodation of 46 crewmembers is provided in comfortable single or double cabins; there is mess-room with separate self-service zone, and all necessary medical, sanitary-common and sanitary-hygienic rooms in accordance with requirements of Sanitary Regulations for Fishing Vessels.
 
Additionally, there is sport complex that includes gym and sauna. Passive roll damping system is foreseen for providing comfortable conditions at non-fully loading conditions. Diesel oil is used as working liquid in the roll damping system.
 
Design speed of 15 kn is provided by single main engine of 4640 kW that works towards variable-pitch propeller in fixed nozzle.
 
Manoeuvrability (also working with two trawls simultaneously) is provided by single Becker type rudder with flap.
 
600 kW bow thruster is foreseen for increasing of low speed controllability.
 
Work of electrical plant is provided by two diesel-generators (1000 and 520 kW), and also by 3250 kW shat generator. Besides, 110 kW emergence diesel generator is foreseen.
 
Keel of the head KMT02 vessel "Nord Pilgrim" (building No. 939) was laid down on 16.01.2018. She was launched on 03.09.19.
Keel of the second vessel "Yuriy Matochkin" (building No. 950) was laid down on 01.11.2018. She was launched on 19.06.20.
Keel of the third vessel "Bratia Laptevi" (building No. 949) was laid down on 22.09.2020.
