After the repair, the vessel set out on a voyage from the port of Bektash (Turkmenistan) to the port of Gebze (Turkey) and is now in transit across the Caspian Sea, following from Bektash to Astrakhan.

Project 005RSD03 was designed by the Marine Engineering Bureau.

The solemn raising of the state flag of Azerbaijan on two multipurpose dry-cargo vessels with deadweight of 5490 tons of project 005RSD03 "Uzeyir Hajibeyov" and "Natavan" took place on October 14, 2014.

The vessels of the series were built by the Onega shipyard in Petrozavodsk (Karelia).

Multi-purpose dry-cargo vessels of mixed river-sea navigation with a deadweight in the sea / river of 5490/3330 tons and are designed to transport general, bulk, timber, grain and oversized cargo, international standard containers 8.5 and 9 feet high and dangerous goods of 1.4S, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 classes and cargoes of category B of BC Code.

The series has proved itself well at work in the Caspian Sea, due to its carrying capacity on Caspian drafts of 5000 tons with a capacity of three cargo holds of 7840 m³, having a small calculated length of only 102.2 m (and, accordingly, noticeably lower port costs, construction cost and operating costs).

Builder - Onega shipyard.

The vessel is going to be used on internal waterways of the Russian Federation's European part, including Volga-Don canal and Volga-Baltic way, and also in sea areas according vessel's class, including operation in Baltic, North, Black, Azov, Caspian and Mediterranean Seas.

Vessel's Russian Maritime Register of Shipping class is of KM Ice2 R2 AUT3.

Overall length is of 108.3 m, length between perpendiculars is of 102.2 m, breadth is of 16.5 m, depth is of 5.5 m.

All holds are box-shaped, smooth-wall, convenient for carrying out the freight works and placing a cargo without shifting.

The cargo holds' sizes are of 21.45x12.7 m (hold No. 1), 27.3x12.7 (hold No. 2) and 26.55x12.7 m (hold No. 3) with the height of 8.3 m.

Hatch covers are of removable type.

Crew consists of 9 persons (11 places).

Cruising speed is of 11.5 knots. Capacity of main engines is of 2x1020 kw. The main engines (medium-speed diesel engines) run on heavy fuel with viscosity up to 380 cSt (fuel oil).

Movement and manoeuvrability of the vessel is provided by two stern full-circle rudder propellers with variable-pitch propeller in nozzles. The drive from main engines to rudder propellers is carried out through mechanical Z-gearing.

Designed vessel hull' life term is of 24 years.

The ship steel of categories RSA and RSD with a yield limit of 235 MPa was accepted for basic hull constructions.

The double bottom is designed for distributed load intensity of 7.5 t/m² that allows to use a bucket grab with cargo-lifting capacity 16 tons.

Autonomy in sea is of 20 days, in river it is of 15 days.

Vessel's keel "General Aslanov" (building number 002) was laid down on 18.11.2003. She was launched on 26.11.2004and put into operation on 11.07.2005.
