New mixed river-sea chemical vessel of RST22TP "Marlin" project with deadweight of 7033 tons can carry 53 chemically dangerous liquid cargoes

Trinity Shipping Company operates the product-chemical mixed river-sea tanker of RST22TP "Marlin" project (construction number 371) "Volgo-Don Max" class with deadweight of 7033 tons. The vessel was handed over in August 2020.

It can simultaneously carry 6 varieties of cargo (a total of 53 chemically hazardous liquid cargoes, in addition to conventional oil tankers, are on the list of approved for transportation).

The builder is Volzhsky Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Yard in Volzhsky (part of Vega Group), general director Elena Mayer.

The RST22TP was designed by the Marine Engineering Bureau.

It is a self-propelled tanker with 6 cargo tanks designed for transportation of chemically hazardous liquid cargoes, crude oil and petroleum products, including gasoline, with no limit on flash point, and ensuring cargo transportation at the maintain temperature of 50°C.

Distinctive feature of the vessels of the project RST22TP, as well as of other river-sea tankers of the Marine Engineering Bureau, is the use as single means of movement and control of full-turn propeller-rudder columns, absence of longitudinal bulkhead in DP, use of submersible pumps, total absence of set in cargo tanks, developed tronk.

The vessels meet the dimensions of the Volga-Don Shipping Canal and the Volga-Baltic Route. Overall length of the vessel of RST22TP project is 139.95 m, width - 16.6 m, depth - 6.0 m.

Class of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping KM Ice1 R2 AUT1-ICS VCS OMBO BWM (T) oil/chemical tanker type 2 (ESP).

Vessels of RST22TP project can operate year-round in sea areas corresponding to the restricted navigation area R2, including around Europe, and on inland waterways of Russia.

Winter operation conditions: occasional year-round operation in ice-free seas, in shallow broken ice of non-arctic seas (sailing alone in shallow broken ice of 0.40 m thickness at 5 kn; sailing in channel behind icebreaker in solid ice of 0.35 m thickness at 3 knots).

The vessels are fully in compliance with international requirements for the transportation of liquid chemical hazardous cargoes IMO2, including double-bay unsinkability.

Capacity of six cargo tanks and two slop tanks 8089 cubic meters, deadweight in the sea - 7033 tons with a draft of 4.60 m, in the river with a draft of 3.60 m - 4636 tons, speed of operation - 12.0 knots.

Cargo system is made for simultaneous transportation of six varieties of cargo, the capacity of cargo pumps - 3 x 300 m³/hour and 3 x 200 m³/hour. One thermal 1750 kW and two disposal boilers of 250 kW each are installed.

The main engines are two 1200 kW medium-speed diesel engines, each running on IFO380 heavy fuel. The thruster is 230 kW.

The power plant consists of three 220 kW diesel generators and a 100 kW emergency diesel generator.

Crew - 12 people, places - 14 + a pilot.

Autonomy (in the sea / in the river) - 20 / 10 days.

The keel of the head vessel of the project RST22TP Marlin (construction number 371) was put into service on 20.08.2020.
