China's largest internet company, Sina Corp, has published an article about Russia's first PV300 cruise passenger vessel, the "Mustay Karim"

China's largest Internet company Sina Corp has published an article about Russia's first cruise passenger vessel "Mustay Karim" of PV300 project. The publication noted that the "Mustay Karim" is not only beautiful as in science fiction, but also luxurious in its interior and that, breaking the foreign monopoly, Krasnoye Sormovo has built such a unique vessel for the first time in 60 years.

The website even says that the shipyard has realised "a cherished desire to make the first domestic cruise liner".

The 141-metre "Mustay Karim" PV300 project can accommodate 329 passengers and offers 152 standard cabins, including 9 suites, 1 junior suite and 1 disabled suite, a 200-seat concert hall and a 50-seat reading room, a 140-seat conference hall, 3 bars (1 beer hall, panoramic reading room), 1 nursery, 1 fitness centre and Turkish bath, a hairdresser and 700 square metres of outdoor sunbathing terrace.

The vessel is designed to operate on the Moscow-Astrakhan (Caspian Sea), Moscow-St. Petersburg (Baltic Sea), Moscow-Rostov (on the Don River, near the Sea of Azov) and many other popular tourist lines.

"VodohodЪ", the customer of the "Mustay Karim", is Russia's largest shipping company operating cruise passenger vessels.

Since the 1950s, almost all of the cruise vessels that have been introduced into the inland and coastal waters of the former Soviet Union have been built by the former East Germany and the Czech Republic.

Russia has an extremely developed system of inland waterway transport, with the Volga River as its main artery.

The Soviet Union has for decades created the famous "Single Deepwater System of the European part" through a system of canals and dredging of the rivers that make up the system.

Many shipyards, such as Krasnoye Sormovo and the Gorky Zelenodolsk shipyard, have been able to build vessels that can reach the Baltic Sea, the Black Sea (via the Sea of Azov) and the Caspian Sea, while nuclear-powered submarines can even be transported directly to the White Sea on barges.

For Russians, a river cruise through all the major European cities in Russia is a very common way of holidaying. A tourist can go from Moscow to St. Petersburg without going down the main channel of the Volga, or he can take a cruise to Nizhny Novgorod, Saratov, Volgograd and other cities, or to Rostov-on-Don, which is adjacent to the Sea of Azov; such a cruise costs between 20,000 and 30,000 yuan per person, and the price is quite affordable (Sina.com estimates)".
