The Marine Engineering Bureau's two PV300 "Mustay Karim" and RT37 "Georgiy Moskalev" vessels are among the positive results of the outgoing 2020

On December 18, 2020, Deputy Head of Rosmorrechflot Konstantin Anisimov, speaking at a meeting of the Board of the Federal Marine and River Fleet Agency, called the river cruise vessel PV300 project "Mustay Karim" and the Baikal bunkering tanker - environmental vessel project RT37 "Georgy Moskalev" handed over in 2020 the positive results of the outgoing year.

The PV300 and RT37 designs were developed by the Marine Engineering Bureau.

A quote from Konstantin Anisimov: "...some positive results have been achieved in the past year.

First, one could say a new era of cruise travel has opened. For example, the river cruise vessel "Mustay Karim", built on Russian shipyards for the first time, has made 13 voyages.

This is a unique event for Russia's domestic shipbuilding and passenger fleet.

In order to improve the environmental situation at Lake Baikal, the bunker tanker "Georgiy Moskalev" (RT37 project) was built and handed over for operation.

The construction of a cruise vessel of the PV300 project was carried out at the Krasnoye Sormovo shipyard in accordance with a trilateral contract signed in January 2017 - Krasnoye Sormovo, Vodokhod and the captive leasing company Mashpromleasing.

Capacity of the PV300 4-deck cruise liner is 329 passengers, that are arranged in comfortable double cabins of 17-46 sq. m area (7 cabins are foreseen for 3 places: 2 adults plus 1 child) ranging from 17 to 46 sq. meters.

The vessel has "all the attributes of a five-star hotel", including supporting passenger infrastructure.

Restaurant on the main deck is of 329 seats, so it is able to arrange all the passengers including children.

Leisure facilities include review lounges (music room for 200 seats and reading room for 50 seats), a transformable conference room (140 seats), three bars (beer, Panorama and in the reading room), a children's room, fitness centre (sauna, hammam, massage rooms, gym, hairdressing salon), gift shop and a sun deck (700 sqm).

Lifts connected all decks, communications and toilets, enlarged passageways and absence of obstacles for wheelchairs are foreseen for passengers with limited mobility.

Vessel will give the chance to make a water journey along the chosen route through the European part of RF. During the voyage vessel should call the ports where walking and bus excursions to cultural, historical, natural sights and coastal resort zones are organized. Accommodation with five-star hotel comfort will be provided. There will be possibility of realization of the most various forms of leisure onboard the vessel: bars, discos, sun bath, swimming in the pool, fitness, walks through vessel's open spaces or conversation with a wine glass in a hand, viewing beauty of coast, screening of movies or performances, visiting performance of actors or famous people, listening of lectures, participating in work of creative teams, communication with friends, or simply rest in the cabin with open, i.e. French balcony.

Passanger capacity for ordinary existence vessels of "Volga-Don Max" class (301 and 302 projects) with now-days cabins is 200-220 people. At the new PV300 concept with the same overall dimensions about 300-350 passengers may be arranged very comfortable.

All passenger cabins are located on upper, boat and tent decks. There are no passenger cabins on the main deck, where crew members work during mooring, sluicing, passengers' deboarding, cargo operations and where may be high noise level or passengers' disturbed factors.

The layout of the cruise passenger vessel in the Vodohod version is designed for 329 passengers, who travel in a comfortable 161 cabins: 7 three-seater suites of 29-46 square metres, 2 double suites of 24 square metres each and 152 standard cabins of approximately 17-20 square metres.

All cabins have their own "French" balcony (a kind of loggia), are equipped with double beds, shower with toilet, air conditioning, wardrobes, safe, TV with satellite and in-cabin channels, hairdryer, 220V and 110V electrical sockets, wireless internet (Wi-Fi), vessel broadcasting, internal and external telephone connection.

Vessel of the new PV300 concept has the following main particulars:

length overall 141 m;
length between perpendiculars 140.15 m;
breadth overall 16.80 m;
breadth 16.60 m;
depth 5.00 m;
draught maximal 3.00 m;
air draught from BL 16.25 m;
speed 22.5 km/h;
crew and service staff 141 people;
autonomy by fuel 15 days;
autonomy by other stores 5 days.

During the tests, the vessel showed a speed of 25 km per hour with a contract speed of 22.5 km per hour.

This "tanker-plant" is constructed at Eastern-Siberian River Shipping Company due to the order of FSE "Rechvodput" of RosMorRechFlot for FBE "Administration of Baikal-Angarsk basin of inland waterways". Corresponding contract was signed on 25.12.2017. Keel of the vessel was laid down on 05.04.2018. Vessel was launched on 17.07.2019 and was put in to operation on 28.05.2020.

Project was developed by Marine Engineering Bureau on the basis of yet constructed vessels, namely RT18 bunker vessels and RT29 ecological vessels. RT37 consolidated indeed ability of these projects, taking in mind that "holy sea" of Baikal requires the highest river class "M" (all the prototypes are of "O" class) while providing enough small draught of 1.8 m.

RT37 concept is a self-propelled bunkering tanker/ecological vessel, collector of oily water and sewage as well as dry garbage. Vessel's class of Russian River Registry is M 3,0 (Ice 30) A. RT37 is a double shaft single deck steel vessel with forecastle and poop, with superstructure and ER located aft, with double bottom and double sides in the cargo area and in the area of processing units.

Vessel's overall dimensions (LxBxD) are as follows: 51.60 x 10.23 x 2.60 m. Deadweight for draught 1.8 is about 280 t.

Cargo tanks' capacity is as follows: 82 m³ for DO, 17 m³ for Lub. Oil, 59 m³ for sewage, 25 m³ for oil water, 2.1 m³ for sludge.

Speed of 16.5 km/h was reached during trials when both engines (261 kW each) worked; the contracted speed is 16.0 km/h.

Crew is 7 people (9 places).

RT37 vessel is called "tanker-plant" because she not only collects wastes but also recycles them, and bunkers the vessels in service.

The vessel is intended for taking from the shore, transporting and discharging to the shore or other vessel oil products (with flash point more than 60°C), diesel oil and lubricating oil (viscosity of up to 50 cSt at t = 50°C).

Also there are foreseen collecting, purification and transportation to the place of processing oily water and sewage, as well as dry garbage.
