Results of 2020:The crab catcher of prj.ST184 "Zenith" became the FIRST vessel in the world specially built for catching and deep factory processing

Results of 2020 at the online conference "Philosophy of ship design". The crab catcher of project ST184 "Zenith" became the FIRST vessel in the world specially built for catching and deep processing of crab with boiling and freezing with brine.

The vessel was built for the Northwest Fisheries Consortium by Tersan Shipyard Inc. (Yalova, Turkey).

From the speech of Professor Gennady Egorov at the on-line conference "Philosophy of ship design" (first day):

The processing capacity of raw materials is 30 tons/day for the opilio crab and 60 tons/day for the king crab. The capacity for frozen products is 20 tons per day for opilio crab and 40 tons per day for Kamchatka crab.

From the speech of Professor Gennady Egorov at the on-line conference "Philosophy of ship design" (first day):

"I specifically decided to show the world's first crab-factory of the project ST184" Zenith ".

It was built at a Turkish shipyard (Tersan - approx. Gennady Egorov) for Russia and according to the philosophy laid by the Russian company "North-West Fishery Consortium".

Why is this vessel interesting?

This is the world's first vessel - crab factory.

Not to catch alive crab and sell, like most vessels in the Far East, and not converted from SRTM, as it is now in the Northern region. It is the newly built crab-factory.

This is also important because the topic continues, and now there are a total of 35 crab anglers in the order. Already at Russian shipyards. "Zenith" has become the locomotive of an entire era in our shipbuilding. This year has become the year of the crab catchers.

Look at how many were laid down in 2020, and that in itself is amazing.

35 vessels under construction. Plus 4 more are expected, those that are for deep-sea fishing (plus 3 more crab catchers - factories of the KSP02 project, which are being completed for the SZRK)."

For information.

On May 3, 2020, the ST184 SZRK crab vessel-processor "Zenith" embarked on its first working voyage from the home port of Murmansk.

The main purpose of the vessel:

• fishing Kamchatka crab and Opilio crab with cone, trapezoidal and rectangular traps at depths from 20 to 400 m;
• processing of the caught crab into finished cooked-frozen products;
• storage of manufactured products in a freezing cargo hold;
• delivery of frozen products to the shore or at sea by means of cargo arrows by the "on the phone" method to receiving and transport refrigerated vessels at sea waves up to 5 points.

The main types of crab caught are Kamchatka crab and opilio crab (snow crab), as well as other types of crab.

Russian Maritime Register of Shipping class - KM Ice3 AUT1 BWM(T) (REF) Fishing Vessel.

The proposed areas of operation of the vessel are the North Atlantic, including the Barents Sea, the Norwegian Sea, the Greenland Sea and the Arctic seas.
