The source of the photo material is the website of the Azerbaijan State Information Agency (AZERTAJ).

The first vessel-museum in the Caspian Sea and the world's first tanker - the HS01 project museum is based on a 'three-island' tanker, with exhibitions in its tanks, superstructures and wheelhouses reflecting the history of Caspian shipping, the history of Caspian oil production, the history of Baku ports, shipyards and repair yards, the past, present and future of maritime Azerbaijan.

President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the opening ceremony.

The HS01 tanker museum was designed by the Marine Engineering Bureau and the Caspian Marine Engineering Bureau.

According to the website of the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company, "along with the development of shipping in our country, a number of projects have been undertaken to protect maritime traditions, to study and maintain their history. Creation of the "Surakhani" tanker-museum in Azerbaijan, combining the past, present and future of seafaring with ancient history, is the next important step in this field under the support of the President. The choice of the "Surakhani" as a museum is not accidental. The vessel was one of the largest and most modern tankers of its time. The experience of countries with ancient shipping traditions, such as Great Britain, the Netherlands and Turkey, was used to turn it into a museum. Thus, a unique project was created as a result of the work of more than 2.000 local shipbuilders. Welcoming visitors to the museum, the captain and assistant captain introduced their staff and duties. The halls of the museum feature state-of-the-art technological solutions. For example, it is possible to perform a mooring operation with the help of mooring manipulators. Visitors also become direct "participants" in what is happening in the video, which is displayed on a 360-degree screen.

The museum also offers the opportunity to see models of three world-famous maritime lighthouses. At the navigation table, visitors can learn about the route, external communications and navigation of vessels sailing in the Caspian Sea. You can also travel back in time here. Visitors travelling to the middle of the last century will get acquainted with the daily work of the vessel's engine room crew. One of the interesting exhibits of the tanker-museum is the corner where samples of flora and fauna collected from the oceans and seas are displayed.

The tanker museum also contains a heroic chronicle of Azerbaijani sailors during the Great Patriotic War, as well as during the events of 20 January 1990. The museum has an interactive book about the national leader Heydar Aliyev's exceptional support to the development of the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company, and an info-monitor reflecting the large-scale projects realised by President Ilham Aliyev in the area of maritime shipping.

The Tanker Museum, which is rich in interesting exhibits, will be one of the most visited places in Baku in the post-pandemic period".

The HS01 project museum vessel is designed to house museum exhibits and be used as a floating restaurant.

The vessel houses museum exhibits in six cargo and dry bulk compartments.

Equipment and furnishings restored in the cargo pump room, engine room, boiler room, tiller room, red corner, mess room, crew mess with mess room, galley, cabins of captain, first mate, second mate, third mate, radio operator, wheelhouse, navigation room, radio room and radio storeroom.
