Nantong Chang Qing Sha Shipyard put into operation the first DCB24 shallow draft heavy bulk cargo barge of 6896 DWT in the series

On April 12, 2021, the Nantong Chang Qing Sha Shipyard (China) put into operation the first in the series shallow-draft single-hold barge "Pola 1" for the transportation of heavy bulk cargoes with a deadweight of 6896 tons of DCB24 project (building number 1905).
 
The shipyard is building two dry cargo barges of DCB24 project.
 
The DCB24 project is a non-self-propelled marine unmanned vessel with one cargo hold, with transom bow and stern ends.
 
Main dimensions of DCB24 project dry-cargo barge:
 
Maximum length - 123.80 m;
Hull length - 123.60 m;
Overall width - 24.20 m;
Width - 24.00 m;
Board height - 5.00 m;
Draft - 2.90 m.
 
Closed with sliding hatch covers, cargo "box" holds 72 m long, 12.0 m wide and 5227 cubic meters in volume. m.
 
The intensity of the distributed load on the second bottom is 10.0 tons per sq. m. The height of the double bottom in the area of the cargo hold is 1000 mm. The width of the double sides is 6000 mm.
 
Deadweight with a draft of 2.90 m (in the river) - 6688 tons.
 
Deadweight at draft 2.90 m (at sea) - 6896 tons.
 
The vessel has 7 main waterproof transverse bulkheads dividing the hull into 8 impervious compartments. The deck, bottom and second bottom in the cargo area are made according to the longitudinal set system, the outer side, the second side and the extremity - according to the transverse set system. The transverse spacing is 600 mm. The spacing of the longitudinal set is 430-500 mm.
 
For anchoring and mooring operations, a windlass is installed in the bow.
 
There is a 50 kW diesel generator (for opening and closing the hatch covers and windlass).
 
The DCB24 project vessel is equipped with two bow anchors weighing 1195 kg each.
 
Keel of the lead vessel of DCB24 project "Pola 1" (building No. 1905) was laid down on 28.09.2020. Launched on 30.01.2021. Put into operation 12.04.2021.
Keel of the second vessel "Pola 2" (building No. 1906) was laid down on 28.09.2020. Launched on 30.03.2021.
