First vessel "Geydar Aliev" with rudder propellers built by Russian shipyard (006RSD05 prj.) was launched
On March, 21, 2004 at Volgograd shipyard the official launching ceremony of "Geydar Aliev" (first vessel with rudder propellers built by Russian shipyard) was carried out. Vessel is multi-purpose river-sea going dry-cargo vessel with deadweight of 6970 tons (006RSD05 prj.).
Series of the vessels is being built for "Palmali Shipping" company. Vessel's project is designed by the Marine Engineering Bureau (MEB). Vessel's keel was laid down on 30.08.03. Vessel is assigned for transportation of general, bulk, timber and large-sized cargoes and dangerous goods of 1, 1.4S, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 classes of IMDG Code and cargoes of Appendix B of BC Code.
It is supposed to operate this vessel on internal waterways of the Russian Federation's European part, including Volga-Don canal and Volga-Baltic way, and also in sea areas according vessel's class, including operation round Europe, work on the following lines: ports of Europe - ports of Caspian Sea, ports of Azov and Black Seas - ports of continent and other. Russian Maritime Register of Shipping class notation of the project is of KM  LU2  I A1. The project satisfies all the requirements of international conventions.
