MPSV07 MASS "Spasatel Kavdeykin" towed an emergency vessel to Vladivostok

According to the website of the Marine Rescue Service, the crew of the 4 MW MPSV07 multifunctional rescue vessel (MASS) with the Arctic ice class ARC5 "Spasatel Kavdeykin" of the Sakhalin Branch of the Maritime Rescue Service successfully coped with the task of towing the emergency vessel - the medium fishing freezer trawler (SRMT) "Severny okean" from the Pacific Ocean, the South Kuril Strait, to the port of Vladivostok, where the ship is to undergo repairs.

SRMT "Severny okean" requested the help of rescuers while in the South Kuril Strait of the Pacific Ocean. According to preliminary data, the hydraulic clutch of the damaged vessel, which provides pressurization of the main engine, is out of order. The crew tried to eliminate the malfunction on their own, acting on the recommendations of the ship owner. However, the malfunction could not be eliminated.

After the request of the ship owner, MPSV07 MASS "Spasatel Kavdeykin" came to the rescue of the damaged vessel. Arriving at the anchorage of the damaged vessel, the rescuers of the Sakhalin Branch provided the crew with the necessary assistance and began towing the trawler to the home port of the SRMT "Northern Ocean" - the port of Vladivostok.

The towing took place normally, without any comments or additional complications. A pair of rescue-rescue vessel covered almost 800 miles. The average speed was just over 5 knots.

For professional actions during towing, the crew and specialists of the Sakhalin Branch received gratitude from the management of the Marine Rescue Service and representatives of the ship owner.
