On October 17, 2008 Kherson Shipyard and Concord Shipping Company put into operation new dry-cargo vessel of RSD11 prj. with deadweight of 6135 tons for Black Sea Shipping Management Company (Anatoliy Chaban is a president of the company).

Vessel's name is "CHELSEA-1".

Project RSD11 is designed by the Marine Engineering Bureau (MEB).

Vessel's building is carried out in accordance with normative document named "Building of internal waterways and river-sea going vessels using elements of maintained vessels". This document was issued by Russian River Register (RRR) under direction of Nikolay Efremov, Doctor of Economic Sciences.

Designing and construction supervision is being carried out by Verkhiy-Volga branch of RRR (Valeriy Lobastov is the head of branch).

Vessel's Russian River Register class notation is of M-SP 3.5, which allows to make international voyages through Black, Mediterranean, Baltic and others Seas. It completely pays off traditional commercial geography of river-sea going vessel's operation, within boundaries of class restrictions.

RSD11 prj. vessel belongs to so-called "Volga-Don Max" type due to MEB internal classification, the principal particulars of which (overall length is of 137.52 m, breadth is of 16.5 m) are caused by dimensions of the Volga-Don navigation canal locks.

A series is built by Kherson Shipyard (hull) and Concord Shipping Company (vessel completing) for the Russian River Register class of M-SP 3.5 with the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping conventional documents.

The vessel is optimized for work with draughts of 3.2-4.0 m. The maximum deadweight of RSD11 prj. with draught of 4.11 m (depth is of 5.5 m and coamings' height is of 3.5 m) is of 6135 tons, with river draught of 3.60 m deadweight is of 4854 tons.

The dry-cargo vessel is assigned for transportation of general, bulk, timber, grain and large-sized cargoes, dangerous goods of 1, 1.4S, 2, 2.2, 4.1, 4.2, 5, 5.1, 6.1, 8, 9 classes. The vessel has four holds with total capacity of 9860 cub. m that allows to transport cargoes with the big stowage factor volume without any loss of cargo capacity.

Double sides' breadth is of 2.15-1.69 m, double bottom height is of 0.9 m.

The double bottom is designed for distributed load intensity of 6,5 tons per square metre.

Hatch covers are of "piggy-back" type.

Total ballast tanks capacity is about 3227 cub. m.

Cruising speed is of 10.0 kn. Fixed-pitch propellers are equipped with turning nozzles.

Vessel's "CHEALSEA - 1" keel was laid down on 25.12.04. She was launched on 01.08.07.

RRR documents were issued on 17.10.08.
