Kuzey Star shipyard laid the keel of the floating dock of the FD05 project with a capacity of 30,000 tons

On March 15, 2022, Kuzey Star (Director Imral Tuncay) held a keel laying ceremony for the 30,000-tonne floating dock of the FD05 project.
 
The construction is performed under the contract by FSUE "Atomflot". Floating dock of FD05 project is designed by Marine Engineering Bureau.

Floating dock of FD05 project is designed for year-round operation in FSUE "Atomflot" water area in Kola Bay and is intended for dock repairs of icebreakers and nuclear service ships, including repair of underwater parts, cleaning and painting of outer hull, bottom and board fittings, propeller system, anchor device, replacement of protector protection and other operations.
 
The vessel is a steel monolithic floating dock, with continuous metal longitudinal towers containing ballast, dry and permeable compartments, with crinolines, windproofing and a transition bridge.
 
The floating dock is built for the RS class KE Berth-connected ship (S) Floating Dock.
 
The height of the pontoon in the DP is 5700 mm. The width of the towers is 4200 mm. The maximum length of the dock - 220 m, length on the slipway - 200 m, width of the dock - 48 m, width in light (distance between the inner edges of fixed structures) - 38 m. Dock draught at maximum depth is 18.40 m, depth above keel blocks is 11.00 m. The height of the keel blocks is 1700 mm.
 
Autonomy of the dock in terms of fuel, water, provisions, collection of oily water treatment, garbage, sewage and domestic water - 7 days.
 
Crew - 30 people.
