Sea trials of lead dry-cargo vessel of 007RSD07 project with deadweight is of 7200 tons have been completed at Volgograd

On November 24, 2009 Volgograd shipyard successfully completed sea trials of lead multipurpose dry-cargo motorship "Tanais I" of "Volga-Don max" type (007RSD07 project) with two full-circled rudder propellers with deadweight is about 7200 t.

Vessel's project is designed by the Marine Engineering Bureau (MEB).

Vessels of 007RSD07 project are the biggest ones among native dry-cargo vessels (by deadweight) that satisfy all the requirements for constant operation through Volga-Don Canal.

The vessel is assigned for transportation of general, bulk, timber, grain and large-sized cargoes, up to 9' ISO containers, dangerous goods of 1.4S, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 classes of IMDG Code and cargoes of category B of BC Code. Sailing regions are Mediterranean, Black, Baltic, White, and North Seas.

Russian Maritime Register of Shipping class of the project is of KM LU1 IISP A3. The project satisfies all the requirements of international conventions which were actual at the moment of laying down of the vessel's keel.

Vessel's overall length is of 139.99 m, overall breadth is of 16.70 m, breadth (without side fenders) is of 16.50 m, depth is of 6.00 m.

Summarized capacity of cargo holds is of 11000 cub. m, total container capacity is of 274 TEU, while holds' container capacity is of 204 TEU. Deadweight in the sea is of 7215 tons, deadweight in river is of 4787 tons while draught is of 3.60 m.

All holds are box-shaped, smooth-wall, convenient for carrying out the freight works and placing a cargo without shifting.

Vessel cargo holds' sizes are of 29.9x12.7 m (hold Nos. 2, 3, 4) and 15.6x12.7 m (hold No. 1) with the height of 8.4 m.

Cargo holds are equipped by removable hatch covers served by gantry crane.

Designed cruising speed is of 10.5 kn. Sea trials speed was about 11.25 kn with 90% usage of main engines.

Two 1120 kWt medium-speed diesels (main engines) use heavy fuel oil with viscosity of IFO700.

Heavy fuel stores are placed in deep-tanks in area of the ER fore bulkhead, separated from outside water by double bottom and double sides.

Movement and manoeuvrability is provided by two stern full-circle rudder propellers with fixed-pitch propellers (diameter is of 2000 mm) in nozzles.

Sea sailing autonomy is of 30 day, river sailing autonomy is of 10 day. Crew consists of 13 persons (15 places).

Designed vessel hull' life term is of 24 years. The double bottom is designed for distributed load intensity of 7.5 t per sq.m that allows to use a bucket grab with cargo-lifting capacity of 16 tons.

The keel of first in the series vessel "Tanais I" (building No.231) was laid down on 26.12.07. She was launched on 04.04.09.
