FSUC State Maritime Salvage Department signed the contract for building of multi-functional buoy craft (BLV01 prj.) with OJSC Shipyard

On April 12, 2010 St. Petersburg branch of FSUC State Maritime Salvage Department signed the contract with Shipyard "Nizhegorodskiy Teplokhod" for building of multi-functional buoy craft (BLV01 prj.).

Project BLV01 was designed by the Marine Engineering Bureau (MEB).

Buoy craft is assigned for mounting of navigation buoys in aquatory and its approaches, their maintenance and unmount.

Sailing region is of aquatory of the port of St. Petersburg (including mouth river parts of Neva), such ports as Primorsk, Vyisotsk, Vyiborg, Ust'-Luga.

Vessel is of singe-deck, double-screw type with forecastle, flat stern and stern propeller crinoline, with fore operational deck that allows to place 4 buoys of BMBL-78 type with anchor gear simultaneously, with main engines and quarters located aft, with cargo crane that provides buoys' operation.

Vessel's principal dimensions:

Overall length - 42.00 m;
Length between perpendiculars - 37.90 m;
Overall breadth - about 10.20 m;
Breadth of the summer load line level - 9.20 m;
Depth - 3.30 m;
Summer freeboard load line -2.5 m;
Full cruising speed - 10 kn;
Autonomy - 7 days.

Russian Maritime Register of shipping class notation is of KM Ice 3 R2-RSN AUT3-C.

Two full-turned rudder propellers SPR 330 FP with capacity of 440 kWt each are used movement and maneuverability gear. Diameter of fixed pitch propellers in nozzles is of 1.4 m. Actuating gear is carried out through Z-gear from high-speed diesels with capacity of 442 kWt each.

Hull's theoretical forms were defined using calculating hydromechanics methods (CFD modeling).

Vessel's fore end has increased ice strengthening, forecastle can be transformed for ramp mounting that provides roll-on method of loading-discharging using minimal re-equipment.

Cargo hydraulic crane with cargo lifting capacity of 8 tons with handling radius of 12.0 m provides main vessel's functions: mounting, unmounting and maintenance of navigation buoys. Crane can be operated during heaving of the sea up to 3 forces without loss of cargo lifting capacity with maximum handling radius.

Special capstan winch with towing tension about 5 tons is used for carrying out main functions: lifting buoys' anchors from the ground, heaving chains of buoys' anchors in and put them into cable locker specially equipped under main deck.

Hydraulic lifts are used for anchors' discharging from the main deck (anchors with weight up to 3 tons) during buoys' mounting.

Besides, cargo crane with cargo lifting capacity of 1 ton is located aft. It is used for utility craft launching, foodstuffs and supply loading, for buoys' maintenance that are led to stern operational stern crinoline.

Utility craft can be used for buoys' maintenance, for boom deployment during vessel's participation in oil spill response (LARN). Brush skimmer, motorized reels with booms (overall booms' length is of 500 m) and buoyancy tanks for gathering of oil-water mixture are also used for LARN operations. Gathered mixture can be pumped into special vessel tank with capacity about 80 cub. m.

Hydrographic DGPS-receiver, hydrographic echosounder, sensing head for measuring of vertical sound speed in water and side-scanning sonar are used for hydrographical and survey vessel's works.

It is supposed to continue building of buoy craft of BLV01 prj. for other branches of FSUC after optimization of main designing decisions onto lead vessel.
