Asian-Pacific shipbuilding conference TEAM-2010 in Vladivostok was ended

From August 24 till August 26, 2010 24th international scientific and practical shipbuilding conference TEAM-2010 has been held.

TEAM (Asian-Pacific Technical Exchange and Advisory Meeting on Marine Structures) is the most famous international shipbuilding conference in Asian-Pacific region (APR). Since 1987 conference TEAM-2010 has been held in one of the countries of APR (Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Russia), and also in Turkey.

TEAM-2010 (the same TEAM XXVI) was held by Maritime State University named after G.I. Nevelskoy (Sergey Ogay is a head of university) with the help of Far Eastern National Technical University.

105 specialists from leading shipyards and design bureaus of APR and universities of Russia, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Turkey and Australia participated into work of TEAM-2010.

TEAM founding father is prof. M. Mano, famous Japan ship-builder. He has been the chief designer of IHI shipyard, his projects were used for building of more than tens Panamax and VLCC. He thought that TEAM should be not only theoretical conference, but people3s meeting dedicated to the new vessels' designing, at that both leading engineers of Asian shipyards and researchers from main universities. The special TEAM feature is personal participation of authors. The good tradition of the conference has become "training" of young, giving hope of naval architects and graduated students under father's supervision of masters of shipbuilding APR countries during reports.

Conference always attracts the attention of counties' and regions' representatives that are interested into branch development because of conference practical course and participation of science leaders of Asian shipbuilding into this conference. TEAM-2010 was not the exception. Representatives of region administration, Far East center of shipbuilding and repair participated into the conference. At that OJSC "FECSR" sponsored the TEAM-2010.

Main reports of the conference were made by the Russian specialists (from Vladivostok, Komsomolsk-na-Amure, Nakhodka, St. Petersburg, Moscow), Korean and Japanese colleagues.

Marine Engineering Bureau (MEB) participated actively in TEAM-2010 when submit for discussion of eight reports with the most actual scientific and practical problems of RF shipbuilding (with the stress to Far East and Siberia) to APR shipbuilding society.

1. New salvage vessels for "Russian Federal Sea Rescue Service"
Igor. E. Zaharov, Gennadiy V. Egorov, Igor A. Ilnitskiy, Valeri I. Tonyuk, Nikolay V. Avtutov.
Principles of creation of new multipurpose salvage ice-breaking vessels MPSV06 prj. with capacity of 7 MW for operating in conditions of Far East and Arctic Ocean and salvage vessel of MPSV07 prj. with high ice class with power of 4 MW for Baltic, Black and Caspian Seas regions and marine diving vessels SDS08 prj.

Significant part of the report was dedicated to theoretical and experimental researches that had been made during hull form choosing, principal particulars and architecture of salvage vessels of new generations. Vessels are assigned for RF Ministry of Transport and are built correspondingly at Amur (FECSR), Neva and Yaroslavl shipyards.

2. Selection of basic parameters of river-sea vessel's for "Northern" Russian regions.
Gennadiy V. Egorov, Valeriy I. Tonyuk.
Analysis of existing and prospective transportation through internal waterways of Siberia and Far East was made. Leading role of river-sea going vessels in "north" delivery was shown (especially for Sakha republic, Yakitiya and for length of Northern sea way from Taymyr to Chukchi Peninsula). The concepts of new dry-cargo vessels and tankers of "Lena" class that are assigned for changing of existing of "Sibirskiy", "Omskiy", "Lenaneft" ones were proved. Developed concepts can be effectively operated into Siberia rivers with draughts of 2.0-4.0 m and are safe for summer sea operation onto appropriate lengths of Northern sea way.

3. Bunkering tankers design.
Gennadiy V. Egorov, Igor A. Ilnitskiy.
Tankers' line is presented for fuel and oil filling/charging of port, roadstead and sea-going types. This line satisfies all the necessities of Russian ports and other consumers of bunkering by vessel's fuel. It is shown that Russian necessity for fuelers and supplying tankers (including Far East ports) will be about 100 new vessels till 2020.

4. Dimentional modernization of the timber carrier "Pavlin Vinogradov" type.
Gennadiy V. Egorov, Igor A. Ilnitskiy.
The report shows the example of successful cooperation of Russian ship-owner and Asian shipyard towards significant increasing of operational abilities of existing sea timber carrying vessel of Northern Shipping Company according to the MEB project.

5. River- Sea ships Risk Investigation.
Gennadiy V. Egorov, Alexander E. Nilva.
The report contains analysis and main conclusion of investigation of risk operation of Russian existing river-sea going fleet. It is shown that renewal of the fleet is being carried out, but the rate of the process is too slow at that new vessels are mostly built for European part of Russia, and Far East fleet goes out of date physically and morally.

6. Features of designing railway ferries.
Gennadiy V. Egorov, , Nikolay V. Avtutov, Dmitriy V. Chernikov.
The report is dedicated to main questions of building of new train ferries of 002CNF01, CNF03, CNF06, CNF09 projects ("Petrovsk", "Skyph", "Avangard", "Slavyanin" types) for Black and Caspian Seas and also re-equipment of "Baltiysk" ferry (CNF05 prj.) for Baltic Sea. It is shown that renewal of the ferries for Vanino-Kholmsk line continues being actual.

7. Choice of the main characteristics of multi-purpose dry-cargo vessels with deadweight of 3-15 thousand tons by the Russian shipowners.
Gennadiy V. Egorov.
The report contains grounding of principal particulars and main characteristics of line of up-to-date dry-cargo MEB vessels. 60 dry-cargo vessels (included in this line) have been built since 2003. The building of the vessels continues actively, at that 3 series (10 vessels of DCV36 prj., 6 ones of RSD18 prj. and vessel of RSD08 prj.) are being built at APR shipyards.

8. "Volgo-Don" type river - sea navigation tankers with full rotated rudder propellers.
Gennadiy V. Egorov, Yuri I. Isupov.
Main characteristics were grounded and were shown main special features of the new river-sea going tankers of "Armada" and "Novaya Armada" types (17 vessels were built and 20 ones were ordered).
