Palmali group tanker made seven voyages from Yury Korchagin floating storage unit in 2010

Tanker "Caspian Stream" of Palmali group (Mubariz Mansimov is a president) made seven voyages from Yury Korchagin floating storage unit (FSU) during the period from October 12, 2010.

Crude oil was transported to Makhachkala and further to Novorossiysk by pipeline system. Loading was carried out in 2 modes: board-board and in tandem with FSU.

Tanker was specially re-equipped for STS operations. Modernization was carried out at Beshiktash Shipyard (Yalova, Turkey) under the direction of Palmali group technical service (Yury Isupov is a vice-president).

Re-equipment project of tanker "Caspian Stream" was designed by the Marine Engineering Bureau (MEB).

The vessel was re-equipped with bow chain stopper of inset type with 100 t keeping force for anchor chain with 58 mm gauge, with two new guide rollers and 400x270 mm central bow hawse. Stopper provides securing of antifrictional chain of FSU rope that is passed through the central bow hawse.

Special unit for securing holding wire for floating hose was mounted in zone of PS manifold, which is used for oil loading from FSU. This unit consists of chain with gear for securing holding wire for floating hose, bitt for rope securing and two hawses through which rope for securing holding wire is passed.

Leg for PS cargo hoses was mounted in manifold zone for protection floating hose.

Equipment for support tug-terminal possible usage (emergency departure, escorting, positioning near FSU) was mounted onto aft end of tanker. Equipment consists of towing hawse and one-pillar bitt for receiving and securing towing rope from tug. The hawse, bitt and their foundations and vessel constructions were calculated for 75 t working load.

Projectors were mounted for oil leak detection along vessel PS. They provide lighting of floating hose.

Vessels of new RST22M project have equipment for work with FSU from building. First vessel in the series "Mubariz Ibrahimov" will go to sea trials within the next few days in Izmit Bay.

Oil extraction at Yury Korchagin oilfield has begun in April, 2010 according to OJSC "LUKOIL" press service info. Yury Korchagin oilfield was opened in 2000 by "LUKOIL". Maximal production level of oil is of 2.5 million tons per year, of natural gas is of 1 milliard cub. m. per year. Oil extracted with help of marine ice stationary platform is transported through underwater pipeline of 300 mm diameter and 60 km length to FSU with deadweight is of 28000 t moored to point berth.
