"Volzhskiy Shipyard" celebrates the 50th anniversary and builds the tanker with DW 6600 for Volgotrans Company

On May 20, 2011 "Volzhskiy Shipyard" (Andrey Paromov is a director) celebrated the 50th anniversary.
 
Enterprise "VS" (previous name was "Volga repair and operational fleet base") was founded on January 25, 1961 using department of fleet technical operation of Volga Shipping Company as a base. It is located on the left shore of Volgograd water storage basin in Osadnaya ravine (near locks of Volga Hydroelectric Power Plant).
 
"VS" is operated under supervision of CJSC "United Vega Shipyards" (Elena Mayer is a director) to date.
 
Shipyard continues the building of lead tanker "Svyatoy Knyaz' Vladimir" of RST11 project with deadweight of 6586/4677 tons in sea/river.
 
"Volgotrans" Co. Ltd (Rodion Svetlichniy is a director) is a customer of river-sea going tanker.
 
Project RST11 is designed by Marine Engineering Bureau and belongs to "Volga-Don Max class".
 
Vessel of RST11 prj. is being built for Russian River Register (RRR) class notation of M-SP 3.5.
 
The supervision is carried out by Nizhniy-Volzhskiy branch of RRR (Sergey Vasilyev is a head of branch).
 
Vessel of RST11 prj. is assigned for river-sea and sea transportation of crude oil and oil products, including benzine, without flash point restrictions.
 
Vessel satisfies the dimensions of the Volga-Don canal and Volga-Baltic Way. Overall vessel length is of 131.64 m, breadth is of 16.5 m, depth is of 5.5 m.
 
Total capacity of eight cargo tanks and two slop ones is of 7042 cub. m, deadweight is about 6586 tons when sea draught is of 4.477 m. Deadweight is about 4677 tons when river draught is of 3.60 m. Cruising speed is of 10.0 knots.
 
Two medium-speed diesels (main engine) of 736 kWt each use diesel fuel MDO.
 
Autonomy is of 7 days.
 
Crew consists of 15 persons (16 places).
 
The keel of lead tanker "Svyatoy knyaz' Vladimir" of RST11 project was laid down on 17.01.11. It is supposed to put the vessel into operation in 2012.
