Kherson Shipyard put into operation dry-cargo vessel "Tyumen" with DW of 6300 t

On September 24, 2011 Kherson Shipyard put into operation dry-cargo vessel "Tyumen" (prj. 005RSD06.04) with deadweight of 6300 tons.

Project 005RSD06.04 (prj. 005RSD06.01 modified according to the new RU requirements) is designed by the Marine Engineering Bureau (MEB).

Vessel's Ukraine Register class notation is of KM Ice1 R2-RSN (with allowable 3%-probability wave height of 6/0 m), which allows to make international voyages through Black, Mediterranean, Baltic and others Seas. It completely pays off traditional commercial geography of river-sea going vessel's operation, within boundaries of class restrictions.

005RSD06.04 prj. vessel has double bottom and double sides, belongs to so-called "Volga-Don Max" type due to MEB internal classification, the principal particulars of which (overall length is of 137.52 m, breadth is of 16.5 m) are caused by dimensions of the Volga-Don navigation canal locks. Due to reasonable reduction of vessel's class decrease of metal amount for hull was reached. That allowed to provide record (for newly built R2-RSN class vessel) deadweight for Volgo-Don Canal specific draught of 3.6 m.

The series is built by Kherson Shipyard (hull) and "Concord Shipping" company (vessel completing).

Lead vessel "Chelsea-3" of 005RSD06.01 project has successfully been operated since February 17, 2006. Initial 005RSD06.01 project vessel "Chelsea-2" has been operated since February 21, 2005.

The vessel "Tyumen" is optimized for work with draughts of 3.2-4.19 m. The maximum deadweight of 005RSD06.04 prj. with draught of 4.19 m (depth is of 5.5 m, coamings' height is of 3.5 m) is of 6303 tons, with river draught of 3.60 m deadweight is of 4866 tons.

The dry-cargo vessel is assigned for transportation of general, bulk, timber, grain and large-sized cargoes and dangerous goods of 1.4S, 2.2, 4.1, 4.2, 5.1, 6.1, 8 and 9 classes. The vessel has four holds with total capacity of 9780 cub m that allows to transport cargoes with the big stowage factor volume without any loss of cargo capacity. The double bottom is designed for distributed load intensity of 6.5 t per sq. m.

Double sides breadth is of 2.15 - 1.69 m, double bottom height is of 0.9 m.

Total ballast tanks capacity is of 3225 cub. m.

Two main engines (medium speed) with capacity of 852 kw each provide cruising speed of 10 kn. Fixed-pitch propellers are in turned nozzles.

Vessel's "Tyumen" (building number is of 08123) keel was laid down on 23.12.04. She was launched on 08.02.2011. She was put into operation on 24.09.11.
