Keel laying down of the second tanker barge of ROB07 prj. at "Brothers Nobel Shipyard" in Rybinsk

Keel laying down for double hull tanker barge of ROB07 prj. with 4400 t deadweight (building No. is of 03002) for Lena region was carried out on 19.10.2012 at "Brothers Nobel Shipyard" (Dmitry Bystrov is a manage director).

Customer is of OJSE "United Lena River Shipping Company" (Sergey Larionov is a general director).

ROB07 project was designed by the Marine Engineering Bureau (MEB).

United Lena River Shipping Company (ULRSC) is one of leading transportation and manufacturing organizations not only in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), but in the North-East of the country as a whole. ULRSC is included in the list of strategic Russian organizations and in the list of strategic organizations of Yakutia.

Transportation and forwarding services in the area of the Northern Sea Route from Khatanga Bay to Pevek, entering the northern rivers of Khatanga, Anabar, Olenyok, Yana, Indigirka, Kolyma, are implemented by approximately 300 units of cargo fleet with total cargo transportation capacity of 371 thousand tons. ULRSC carries out 83% of cargo transportation for customers of Yakutia, and the rest for the organizations of the Irkutsk region, Krasnoyarsk and Khabarovsk Territory and Chukotka. When classifying structure of cargo base due to cargo nature, one can see that there are 70% of fuel-energy resources. Customer classification shows that there are 55% of cargoes for state and regional needs. Customers position classification shows that there are about 50% of cargoes for customers in the Arctic zone of the North-East of the country.

There are only 630 km of railways and 7.5 thousand kilometers of hard cover car roads with in Yakutia while its area is of 3.1 million square kilometers. Only 16% of the population lives in the area of all-year transportation. Only 48 villages from 629 ones are connected with region centers by hard cover road network. 25 regions from 33 ones have no reliable transport connection with the Republic center and nearest regions. About 88% of the total production of goods and services is arranged in the regions served seasonally.

For more than 85% of the Sakha (Yakutia), the only transport route is a seasonal waterway of Lena basin rivers from the port Osetrovo to the Laptev Sea. Extension of inland waterways of Republic is 20 thousand km. Extension of a part of the Northern Sea Route from the estuary of Anabar River to estuary of Kolyma - 2963 km. Actually, the river Lena and other navigable Yakutia rivers are meridional extension of main-line railways.

Delivery of diesel fuel, kerosene, gas condensate (as fuel oil), crude oil (also as fuel oil), gasoline and methanol is demanding for most customers. Typically these liquid cargoes are of flash point below or about 60 degrees.

Generally shipping companies transport such cargo by tankers of R-77 prj. ("Lenaneft" type). The average age of such tankers has reached 31 years. It should be marked that these vessels have no double bottom.

MARPOL requirements and special requirements of the Russian and world petroleum companies were taken into consideration during designing the ROB07 project. These vessels have the double bottom and the double sides and designed for transportation of crude oil and oil products without flash point restrictions.

The concept was designed in accordance with the results of RSW "Development of conceptual designs of specialized tankers and cargo ships for guaranteed delivery of goods in the Arctic regions of Russia", performed by the Marine Engineering Bureau for the Federal Agency of Marine and River Transport of the Russian Federation, according to the Federal Program "Development of Civil Marine Engineering" for 2009-2016".

Class notation of Russian Maritime Registry of Shipping is KE R3-RSN Oil tanker (ESP).

"Ice1" is the barge's hull ice class.

ROB07 prj vessels satisfy waterway conditions of Lena region and dimensions of the Volga-Don Canal and Volga - Baltic Waterway if working with existent tug-pushers. Overall length is of 95.23 m, overall breadth is of 16.8 m, depth is of 5.0 m.

Total capacity of twelve cargo tanks and two slop ones is of 4670 cub. m, deadweight is about 4403 tons at draught of 3.60 m.

Container diesel-generator set is foreseen for providing work of cargo pumps and auxiliary gears.

Diesel-generator capacity is of 350 kWt. Harbor diesel-generator capacity is of 6,4 kWt. Cargo system provides simultaneously transportation of 2 cargoes. Cargo pumps capacity is of 5 x 150 cub. m/hour.

Keel of ROB07 prj lead vessel (building No. is of 03001) was laid down on 10.07.12.
Keel of ROB07 prj second vessel (building No. is of 03002) was laid down on 19.10.12.
