The fifth dry-cargo vessel of "Gejdar Aliev" type was put into operation for Palmali group

On May, 03, 2006 the fifth in the series multipurpose dry-cargo motorship "Zeynalabdin Tagiyev" ("Volga-Don Max" class) with deadweight of 6970 tons (006RSD05 prj.) with two full-circle rudder propellers was put into operation for Palmali group (Mubariz Mansimov is a president).
 
The vessel was put into operation the month ahead of contracted schedule at Volgograd shipyard, which is included in group of the companies "Marine and oil-and-gas projects" (MOP) (Vladimir Prudius is a general director).
 
There are seven vessels of "Volgo-Don Max" class in all.
 
Vessel's project is designed by the Marine Engineering Bureau (MEB).
 
Vessel's keel was laid down on 24.12.04. She was launched on 29.03.06. Vessel was put into operation on 03.05.06.
 
006RSD05 project vessels are the biggest among Russian dry-cargo vessels which are satisfied dimensions of Volga-Don Canal.
 
Vessels are assigned for transportation of general, bulk, timber, grain and large-sized cargoes, containers and dangerous goods. Sailing regions are Mediterranean, Black, Baltic, White, North Seas, including voyages around Europe and to Irish Sea in winter.
 
Summarized capacity of cargo holds is of 11400 cubic m. Maximal sea deadweight is of 6970 tons. In the river with draught of 3.60 m deadweight is of 4580 tons.
 
"Zeynalabdin Tagiyev" has already joined to first four vessels in the series such as "Gejdar Aliev", "Palmali Voyager", "Ilyas Efendiev" and "Nakhchivan" (006RSD05 prj.) which successfully work at Mediterranean and Black sea. They transport grain and other cargo.
 
These vessels are the first one of such class with full-circle rudder propellers in the world. 006RSD05 project was included in "Significant ships" list by Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA) in 2004.
