Consideration of designs of cruise mixed river-sea going vessels with 550 passengers capacity and with 250-300 passengers capacity

Meeting of a Working group on coordination, technical-scientific and organizational support of realization of Federal Target Program "Civil Marine Engineering Development for 2009-2016" was carried out on 01.11.2013. This meeting took place in the Federal Agency of Marine and River Transport under direction of head deputy of RosMorRechFlot Mr. Vovk Victor.

During Working group meeting Mr. Gennadiy Egorov (the Marine Engineering Bureau general director, prof., Dr. Sc.) presented a report concerning results of technical projects creating of cruise mixed river-sea going vessels with about 550 passengers capacity (prj. PV500VB for line Moscow - St. Petersburg - Astrakhan) and with 250-300 passengers capacity (prj.PV300VD for line St.Petersburg - Moscow - Rostov-on-Don - Black Sea ports - Turkish ports - Red Sea ports).

Technical projects PV500VB and PV300VD have been created on the basis of conceptual projects of 2012, in view of the decision of Expert Council of Federal Agency of Marine and River Transport, National Chamber of Navigation, and also recommendations of leading passenger fleet operators such as the Moscow River Shipping Company, the "Vodokhod" Company, Russian representative of the Viking ("Passenger fleet") Company and some other international operators.

1. It was paid attention on concepts development comparing with previous design step. This development includes significant enhancing functional conditions of design vessels (examples below are given for the prj. PV500VB).

Passengers recreation zone

Number of restaurants is increased from 1 to 3; that has enabled one change meal period.

Restaurants' specific area was increased from 0.9 to 1.6 sq.m per single person.

"Swedish lines" are organized in all restaurants.

Two broadly placed "swedish lines" are foreseen in the main restaurant. The panorama restaurant is equipped with bar console and may be used as round-the-clock bar.

In the restaurant with open kitchen one can watch meals preparation because kitchen is separated from restaurant by glass wall only; this restaurant is able to work round-the clock also. Restaurant has opened terrace with two-person tables.

There are reception and office room in the fore lobby.

Both lobbies are equipped with rest zones c with couches and coffee-machines.

Library is moved to the fore lobby.

Cabins

Passenger capacity is increased from 518 to 550 by organizing the third (child) place at 54 cabins.

The block of cabins (12 pcs.) is added on a solar deck before fore a lobby, due to moving conference halls and a part of crew cabins to vessel's hold and also moving bridge forward as possible.

Passenger stream and crew stream are split at the vessel's hold.

Cabins above ER are cancelled.

Others

Passage through main deck with ability of forecastle deck entering is organized for mooring works providing.

ER is decreased.

Conditioners compartment at the fore part of the hold is cancelled (air conditioning apparatus is placed in the water treatment room). Seven air conditioner rooms are added at the deck-house.

The excess number of shops is decreased.

Video saloon and interne coffee are cancelled; wireless Internet and TV are provided at all cabins.
