The lead vegetable oil/wine/ oil tanker "Gloster-1" of RST26 project of "Belomor-Baltic Canal Max" type departed for the first voyage

On 11.01.14 the lead vegetable oil/wine/ oil tanker "Gloster-1" of RST26 project of "Belomoro-Baltic Canal Max" type with deadweight of 4560/2787 t in sea/river was departed for the first voyage.

The vessel was built at Kherson Shipyard.

Project RST26 is designed by Marine Engineering Bureau.

Vessel "Gloster-1" refers to the "BBC Max" type due to MEB internal classification. She has maximum possible dimensions for Belomor-Baltic Canal (BBC). Overall RST26 prj. vessel length is of 118.87 m, breadth is of 13.0 m, depth is of 5.8 m.

Vessel of RST26 prj. is assigned for mixed river-sea and marine transportation of crude oil and oil products, including benzine, without flash point restrictions, wine materials, vegetable oils and molasses.

The simultaneous transportation of two kinds of cargo of the same type is ensured.

Following character features of RST26 prj. vessel are as follows: longitudinal bulkhead in CL, submersible pumps' usage, full absence of a framing in cargo tanks, increased trunk.

Vessels completely conform with new international requirements of transportation vegetable oils, including double-section unsinkability (except ER).

Total capacity of eight cargo tanks and two slop ones is of 5009 cub. m, deadweight is about 4600 tons when sea draught is of 4.784 m. Deadweight is about 2820 tons when river draught is of 3.60 m. Cruising speed is of 10.0 knots.

Eight submerged pumps with capacity of 115 cub. m/hour for each and one submerged pump of slop tank with capacity of 80 cub. m/hour are installed onboard. It provides 6 hours as cargo operations duration. Cargo system provides closed loading of cargo by shore-based facilities and unloading of it by vessel's submerged pumps. The system provides operations of loading and unloading cargo simultaneously for 2 types of cargo.

The system of isolated ballast is provided to be located completely in the cargo area of the tanker and is served by two ballast pumps.

Two medium-speed diesels of 567 kWt are used as main engine.

Autonomy is of 10 days.

Crew consists of 12 persons (16 places).

The keel of the lead vessel of RST26 prj "Gloster-1" was laid down on 22.07.11. She was launched on 22.02.13 and put into operation on 16.11.2013. Accepted into operation on 11.01.14.
