On 26.09.2015 Astrakhan shipyard "Lotos" (Vladimir Kulakov is shipyard's general director) launched the second for this shipyard RST25 tanker "Yakov Gunin" of "Volgo-Don Max" type with deadweight of about 6610 t (building No. 25005).
 
Several head managers participated in the ceremony: Minister of RF Industry and Trade Denis Manturov, General Director of Moscow River Shipping Company Konstantin Anisimov and other colleagues.
 
RST25 vessels are being built at Lotos Shipyard by leasing program with the participation of the lessor JSC "Gosznak-leasing" (Alexander Babich is a director) and the lessee Moscow River Shipping Company (MRSC).
 
Project RST25 was designed by Marine Engineering Bureau.
 
Vessel is named after Yakov Stepanovich Gunin, who during 35 years was head of Khlebnikov Ship-Repair Yard that has been included in MRSC.
 
Five RST25 vessels are under operation now yet. They were built by Brothers Nobel Shipyard in Rybinsk (3 vessels) and Zhelenodolsk Shipyard named after A.M. Gorkiy (2 vessels).
 
Special requirements of the Russian and world petroleum companies, additional ecological limitations of RRR ECO3 class ("CLEAN DESIGN" according to DNV classification) were taken into consideration during designing of RST25 tankers.
 
For the first time such class notation was assigned in Russia to RST22 tanker built in 2008.
 
Vessels are assigned for river-sea and sea transportation of crude oil and oil products, including benzine, without flash point restrictions, with providing of cargo transportation with keeping of 50 degr. C. temperature. Simultaneous transportation of 2 cargo kinds is ensured.
 
Using full-circle rudder propellers as movement and manoeuvre facilities, using submersible pump, full absence of a framing in cargo tanks, enlarged trunk are characteristic features of RST25 vessel. These vessels have no longitudinal bulkhead in CL.
 
Vessels satisfy the dimensions of the Volga-Don canal and Volga-Baltic way. Overall RST25 vessel length is of 139.99 m, breadth is of 16.6 m, depth is of 5.5 m.
 
Vessels belong to "Volga-Don Max" tankers' type.
 
New project tanker have increased river function, increased deadweight by 410 tons in river conditions with keeping sea possibilities in comparison with vessels of "Armada" type.
 
Total capacity of six cargo tanks and two slop ones is of 6990 cub. m, deadweight is about 6610 tons when sea draught is of 4.17 m. Deadweight is about 5130 tons when river draught is of 3.60 m. Cruising speed is of 10.5 knots.
 
Two medium-speed diesels (main engine) of 1200 kW each use heavy fuel oil with viscosity of IFO380.
 
Autonomy is of 20 days.
 
Crew consists of 12 persons (14 places).
 
Keel of "Sergey Terskov" RST25 lead vessel (for Lotos Shipyard) with building No. 25004 was laid down on 06.09.11. She was launched on 24.05.15.
Keel of "Yakov Gunin" second vessel with building No. 25005 was laid down on 06.09.11. She was launched on 26.09.15.
 
Brief historical note. Yakov Stepanovich Gunin was born on December 5, 1920 in the village of Nemkovo of the Rodnikovsky region of the Ivanovo province in the worker's family. In 1940 he graduated from Gorky River Technical School, in 1947 from the Leningrad Institute of Water Transport Engineers. After the graduation from the technical school he worked as the captain of a tugboat in Pinsk River Shipping Company, at the end of 1940 he joined to the Soviet Army. From 1943 to 1945 as a soldier of the 10th Guards Airborne Division he fought at the North-West, Steppe and 3rd Ukrainian fronts. In 1945 he demobilized from Army and entered to Moscow River Shipping Company. He worked as the captain of mv "Levanevsky", the Chief Mate of mv "Professor Mechnikov", then as the shop manager at the Hlebnikov Ship-Repair Workshop. In 1950 he was suggested as a director of Shcherbakov (Rybinsk) Ship-Repair Workshop. Same year he was elected as the deputy of chairman of the Executive Committee of Shcherbakov (Rybinsk) City Soviet of People's Deputies.
 
In August, 1952 he came back to the native Hlebnikov Ship-Repair Workshop where he became permanent director for more than 35 years.
 
During 35-years period of Yakov Stepanovich being the director, the workshop became Hlebnikov Ship-Repair Yard. New shops were built, new production was mastered, yard's output grew by 54 times. During these years in the Vodniki settlement 453 thousand square meters of living quarters were built as well as 2 stores, kindergarten, a day nursery, school, policlinic, drugstore, House of culture, stadium, 9-floor hostel. Yakov Stepanovich Gunin died on August 7, 2014 at the age of 94.
