The first voyage of RST26 vessel "Gloster 1" with liquid cargo of red and white Spanish wines

Lead RST26 oil/chemical tanker "Gloster-1" of "BBC Max" type (with river/marine deadweight of 4560/2787 t) transported 3892.440 tons of wine (784.790 tons of red one and 3107.650 tons of white one). The voyage route was from the port of Valencia to the port of Galati. It was for the first time that the vessel built due to Marine Engineering Bureau project transported such kind of liquid cargo (wine). Interesting to admit that transportation was made in stormy weather conditions, it took about 20 days including waiting for the berthing. The cargo has been accepted by the consignee without remarks.

The vessel was built at Kherson Shipyard.

Project RST26 is designed by Marine Engineering Bureau.

Overall vessel's length is of 118.87 m, breadth is of 13.0 m, Vessels satisfy the dimensions of the Volga-Don Canal, Volga-Baltic Waterway and Belomor-Baltic Canal.

RST26 vessel is assigned for mixed river-sea and sea transportation of crude oil and oil products, including benzine, without flash point restrictions, wine materials, vegetable oils and molasses.

During the last voyage the vessel accomplished transportation of whine (not whine materials).

The simultaneous transportation of two kinds of cargo of the same type is ensured.

Following character features of RST26 vessel are as follows: longitudinal bulkhead in CL, cargo pumps' room, full absence of a framing in cargo tanks, increased trunk.

Vessels completely conform to the new international requirements of transportation vegetable oils, including double-section unsinkability.

Total capacity of eight cargo tanks and two slop ones is of 5009 cub. m, deadweight is about 4600 tons when sea draught is of 4.784 m. Deadweight is about 2820 tons when river draught is of 3.60 m. Cruising speed is of 10.0 knots.

Eight submerged pumps with capacity of 115 cub. m/hour each and one submerged pump of slop tank with capacity of 80 cub. m/hour are installed onboard. It provides 6 hours of cargo operations. The system provides operations of loading and unloading cargo simultaneously for 2 types of cargo. Cargo loading is provided by shore-based facilities.

The system of isolated ballast is provided; it is entirely located in the cargo area of the tanker and is served by two ballast pumps.

Two medium-speed diesels of 567 kWt are used as main engine.

Crew consists of 12 people (16 places).

The keel of the lead RST26 vessel "Gloster-1" was laid down on 22.07.11. She was launched on 22.02.13 and put into operation on 16.11.2013.
