MPSV07 "Spasatel Demidov" project multi-purpose salvage vessel in Novorossiysk hosts open days

According to the Rosmorrechflot Marine Rescue Service, Novorossiysk's 4MW multi-purpose salvage vessel with Arctic ice class ARC5 of MPSV07 project "Spasatel Demidov" is hosting open days.

The MPSV07 Project "Spasatel Demidov" of the Azov-Black Sea branch of the Marine Rescue Service is open for three days for visits by cadets, students, trainees and pupils of Novorossiysk educational institutions and future employees of the maritime industry. For this purpose the vessel is moored at the city pier. Already on the first day of excursions MPSV07 "Spasatel Demidov" had more than 80 people visiting the vessel.

The Azov-Black Sea branch of Morspassluzhba is launching a series of "open door" days on the MPSV07 "Spasatel Demidov" to celebrate its 65th anniversary across all branches of the institution. Similar excursion days on MPSV vessels have already been planned in all branches. Sporting events, creative and professional competitions are also planned to celebrate the forthcoming anniversary. The Marine Rescue Service anniversary celebrations will take place in August this year. The early start in the Azov-Black Sea branch is due to the heavy workload of one of the flagships of the branch's fleet, the MPSV07 project "Spasatel Demidov", in the next few months.

The first visitors were cadets from Ushakov State Maritime University and students from the university's Maritime Transport College. The future navigators, marine mechanics, economists and lawyers toured the main areas of the rescue vessel - from the navigational bridge to the engine room. During the tour they learned about the salvage vessel's main systems, got acquainted with the crew's living conditions, and were able to ask questions of the captain and chief officer.

More than 150 more visitors will visit the MPSV07 "Spasatel Demidov" in the coming days.
